About St Andrews

St Andrews is a fabulous seaside town, located on the east coast of Scotland, around 50 miles north of Edinburgh and 80 miles east of Glasgow.

St Andrews is named after Scotland’s patron saint, St Andrew, whose remains are said to have been brought here more than 1000 years ago. St Andrews is Scotland’s oldest university town, with many of its original buildings still in existence today. Very popular with students (Prince William & Kate Middleton studied here) and golfers, it’s a thriving and busy town that is well worth a visit – even if you’re not a golfer. St Andrews is home to the world famous Old Course and the Royal & Ancient Golf Club which attracts thousands of visitors every year from all around the world.
