Christmas at The Edinburgh Botanics
by David Wheater of Tours of Edinburgh
Last week we visited the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) to see their beautiful Christmas Lights. We were lucky to get a nice, settled evening for our visit and with lots of layers on we kept very toastie and warm.
I decided to film the lights as I went round and you can see the results in the film above. It was all beautifully done and really rather magical. It was particularly nice to see families out enjoying themselves and there really was something for everyone both young and old.
There was lots of traditional Christmas fayre on offer including spiced cider, mulled wine and hot chocolate and there's also a wee Santa's Grotto for the kids to visit. They've also got a very good Christmas shop, so if you're still looking for some Christmas pressies it's the ideal place to find some unusual gifts.
If you're looking for something to do with the family to get you in the Christmas mood I can thoroughly recommend a visit.
This years event lasts until Saturday the 30th December 2017. Tickets can be bought from the RBGE website at www.rbge.org.uk/whats-on/home/christmas.
